Oaks of Righteousness will provide services to residents to help break the cycle of recidivism.
Oaks of Righteousness is a non-profit, faith-based, residential facility that offers support for female ex-offenders who desire to make positive life changes and become productive members of society.
Programs & Services
Oaks of Righteousness is blessed to have 15-20 volunteers each week who serve the ministry by praying for the residents, mentoring, teaching Bible studies, or leading Christian small group recovery studies.
Prison experts acknowledge transitional living as a pressing need, and there is a critical shortage of transitional homes. Without a healthy alternative, ex-offenders return to the people, places, and habits that lead them to prison in the first place.
The Oaks of Righteousness is being established to help break the cycle of addiction and homelessness that leads to re-incarceration, and to offer women hope for a better future and the opportunity to become the women that God created them to be.
A typical resident has just been released from prison. She may be homeless, and has few or no resources with which to regain a stable and productive life. Moving into a safe faith-based house can direct her onto a healthy path.
We offer residents 9 months to 1 year in a secure environment to learn the skills to reintegrate into society, to strengthen their resilience, and to become the women that God created them to be.
"For many years we have been teaching Bible studies and mentoring women in the Texas prison system, and have heard their pleas for help and transformation. Many of these women want to change their lives, but their options upon release are limited. This became our calling from God to establish a safe and stable Christian home for female ex-offenders."
The Oaks of Righteousness ministry to establish such a residence began in 2012.
